Niagara mini meet

Overall I hope everyone had a good time. 3 cars showed up and 6 people (Kris(me), Mike E, Marko, Alex, Alex P and wifey). We met a kinda cocky Contour SVT owner that said he can beat our cars (all stock engine in the CSVT), me and Mike just laughed and looked away. The ricer show kinda ended when we got there, and the Gen III owner was gone so we didn't get to see him. Mike has a strong ATX, and his black interior was very nice. Much better than my plain old mocha Alex was having a missfire problem with his 93, so he was taking it easy for the most part. Hope he can get that sorted out soon. It was nice meeting everyone

Shannonville Track nite (track opened 17:30). 4 SHO owners were there: Mark, James, David, Paul

Apr 3, 2004

It was great too see 20 SHOs and 26 people took the time to detail their car and come to our yearly automotive visit. Legebdary Motor Car was the choice this year, and they showed us alot of north american automotivehistory by showing is the process of classic car restoration. Who will be the first SHO owner to restore his SHO?The LMC visit was followed by a visit to a local restaurant. The best always comes last: Some of us ended up standing in parking lot, and agreed to go for some test of hill climbing in theescarpment right by. Thanks to evryone who came!

Go kart day

Formula Kartways in Brampton

All in all we were 5-6 people and 5 SHOs. We had 2 new SHO owners coming, one had a good looking red 95MTX, and the other was fighting with a 89 with engine trouble. Formula kartways was a blast as always, there was a 55+ team there that we all were bumping into. Track was a little slippery in turns, causing a 3 ppl crash in the middle. The back straigth/corner was reconfigured a bit, maybe to reduce speed there. A nice warm lunch after did the the trick on such a cold day. Roads were not snow covered like up north/east, but the strong northerly wind did stop us from being outside to long.

Dyno day at Protech. Just like last year, this was a huge success. 7 confirmed their arrival, 12 SHOs showed up! Nice to see familiar faces. Nice to meet up with Gavin (new). He came with a 1994 SHO having 60k on the odometer. We missed Don R at Kelseys (Dixie automall) after for a tasty meal. There was no blown SHOs there this year. The "King" was Tom L. and his 1990 black SHO with 204HP at the front wheels. Ian M. showed off his great sounding exhaust cut out on his V8 SHO engine. He measured 180HP with exhaust cutout closed and 186HP opened in 2nd gear. Thomas (92SHO) and his somewhat special exhaust setup (no cats and cherry bomb mufflers) made more noise than Ians V8 SHO. We all thought it would be the other way. The V8 engine seem to like less resistance better - performance wise.

Thanks to our host John we had a very successful July meet! No doubt that John did his very best to make us all welcome. As far as I know, no kids wrecked anything, no SHO owners got too irresponsible. (Besides Tegs flat outs on the backroads that we could hear from miles away....). Johns burgers was world class, no doubt! I'd drive back there anytime for a taste like that. We have Licks down the street here, but they are not up to this level.

The V6 challenge II

It was held at St. Thomas International Dragway , the location of first Canadian V6 Ford Challenge, was held again with huge success. Mike T. ran away with prices also this year. Treathening raing was close to makeing it cancelled, but it was just a few drops after 4PM. SHO cars count was around 10.

Mon May 19, 2003

Shannonville track nite

Around 10 SHOs (9 gen II and Ians gen III)

Thanks to new and old members showing up on such a georges Victoria day. The SHO seems to wake up after a day at Shannonville. Good to smell some burnt tires and hot brakes. Thanks to the management they are letting us out for $20 for 5 laps.

Fri Apr 25, 2003

Ford Plant Tour to St. Thomas Assembly Plant.

Tour was around 1.5 hours. Around 9 SHOs (8 gen II and Clares gen III), 12 SHO owners, 2 guests.

General impresion: Very good and knowledgeable and pleasent tour guides. Definatly worth the $0 entrance fee.

About the plant: They Build the Crown Victoria for Cop and Fleet use, The Grand Marquis for General Public use, and the New Mercury Marauder for the ones who can shell out 46k+ dollars... It at one time had cars in the tower out front they had built. They also built Mustangs there at one time, the 1976 Olympic Edition {white and red with the logo on the fender}. It was cool to go by and see all the different cop cars and taxis out there. We saw a silver Marauder being built, and a black Marauder in the "Showroom". Funny enough that tour guide did not want to trade a ride in the Marauder against a ride in one of our SHOs.

Location(according to Ford's info): Our plant is located on Highway #4 South (Colonel Talbot Road), about one mile south of Highway #401.

A good lunch at Jack Astors, led by Clare through London's back alleys. It definatly extend the experince to around 6PM.

Sat Mar 15, 2003

March meet was held at Formula Kartways in Brampton, followed by a lunch at Kelseys on Dixie. 9 SHOs came and open the spring season. Mark made it from Kingston with his 600000km red SHO and showed his newly installed long steel subframe connectors. Other far travellers was Mike Seymore, Ottawa.

Exhillarating fun at Hamilton Indoor Go Karts. A hole wack of SHOs met up today in the parking lot of Hamilton Cart racing. I arrived 11:50, and most had already arrived (well..... I have been lost in Hamilton before so this time I did not want to repeat that and swung by Indego... thanks Dina). I counted 11 SHOs in the parking lot, 1 first Gen (thanks to Tom Langland) and the rest Gen II. No gen III.... I am shure they will come back stronger later in the year (Ian, Kim, Hammy, Clare...).
As many of you have noticed on the list, alot of new members showed up on the meeting today. Usually, I get the time to talk to evryone, but we were close to 15 in total, so there simply was not time. A small downside was the track owner showed up around 40 minues late, but that did not dampen our spirit to do go karting. We all got 10 extra laps. Our excellent club drivers performed well on the track - appearantly less than a second below track record! Not shure who had those times, but they were in the first group. We were 15 drivers (4 SHOs had passengers) so we were split in 2 groups. I had a blast, Dina (wify) was taking it easy (her first time), most of us were passing her in the second group. Apologyes goes Kevin: I tried passing him on the inside of pit turn. It did not work at all: He squezzed me into the railing and I got really stuck there and needed assitance of 2 helpers!!
After the thrill we cooled off in the parking lot, many people got their car tested with Al Malloy's EEC reader. He had the "Snap On" tool with messages coming out as text. For me, I am happy with the CE light for reading codes, but thats another story.
Kelsey's on the hill was the target for lunch and lots new ideas was exchanged. Once again, I am amazed how skilled most of us are about SHOs and other cars, even though most of us arent even close to beeing car mechanics. Again thanks all for coming by today!

Exhillarating fun at Formula Kartways in Brampton.
No equipent is required, beside valid drivers license. Private full face helmet is an advantage. Cost ~ $20-25 for 20 something laps which include helmet and hair net. How often can you drive with full throttle, without wrecking your SHO or your license????

Dyno Day at Protech Performance.
We had a total of 13 cars! And that is a new record. We have never had so many cars to any event before! Around 10 of them was on the dyno. I didnt get to ask evryone for results, but that could be fun to get all the numbers posted. Evrything turned out great, even the late fall weather turned sunny. The RPM reader at Protech didnt get a good RPM reading for some SHOs, so they got a TQ/mph and HP/mph instead. 7 of us ended up for a well tasting meal at Kelseys afterwords.

Dynojet results @ the wheels:
GENII MTX:
Josh: 465 HP and 350 tq (some bolt ons...)
Pierre: 191.5 hp and 184.7 tq (Y pipe)
Mike T.: 207 hp and 194 tq (Sept 19, Y-pipe, MAF, LPM))
Mark:189.5 hp and 182.5 tq (unmodded)
Greg R.: 172.8 hp (probably malfunctioning MAF)
GEN II ATX:
Herman: 179.4 hp and 171 torque
Brett: 178.6hp & 174.5lb. ft. of torque.
GENIII ATX:
John C. 169HP (should have been 235*0.78 => 183HP)

Shannonville track nite.
What a blast!!! The whine of the SHOs was unmistakable, and the smell of burning brakes in the pits is something to remember. Thomas did three laps in rapid succession and the gate keeper pointed at the smoke rolling out from his fenders, so Thomas got out to take a look and said, 'Ha thats nothin" and got back in. He claims this 96 brake upgrade is cool. After that torture test there was no noticeable negative side effects.
The Shonut arrival was pretty much "the event" for the day. Everybody was like; checking it out drewling! Josh's 12.x inches brakes were showing cool effects as well after he took Mike T. around for a fast lap. When we got in the pits he called us all over to look and his rotors were glowing bright red, just like you see on Formula One cars on a tough braking track. David has some video clips coming up in form of tape.

The V6 challenge was held on St. Thomas dragway. What a great day for a race! Well, it was a tad warm again so everyones times were not quite up to par, but it still turned out well. There weren't a lot of SHO's there, but the ones that did 'SHO' up pretty well dominated the day. We won: Fastest ET of the day (Mark) Fastest Trap Speed of the day (Josh) NA Bracket racing (Me) Overall Bracket racing (Me) Runner up NA Bracket racing (Pierre) Plus, MMFF magazine got a shot of me doing a burnout for the magazine and took some pictures of Josh's engine and is going to put some details of his engine in the magazine (supposedly). Then, to top it off, some of us went back to the Street legal races at night and Josh pretty well kicked ass there, having the fastest car of the night (in the time that we were there). I believe Pierre and I will recall that on one run, I can't remember his time but his Trap Speed was somewhere around 108 and a group of sport bike guys near us said 'That was in a TAURUS??!!' Yup, the day was dominated by a 'Taurus'. Update, Jan 2003: The event actually made it to the MMFF magazine).
Brett appearantly have some video film from the event.

Eight drivers and five passengers came together to fabulous summer SHO East meet in Kingston/Picton Area. We had beautiful scenic drive on HWY. 33 west to a local ferry. A short stop at the "Lake of the Mountain" (local attraction), we accidentally ran into Philip Bender. Also this time he was driving his van. Everyone has been starting to wonder if he really has a SHO. He does have SHO, but Ford never made the SHO station wagon, so he had to go for a van. We visited the local winery. Our leader car was quite lead footed which resulted in a huge gap in the caravan and some missing SHOs. Hopefully everyone got a chance to taste the local cider! Later, the BBQ was fired up and beers came out. There is no doubt we have a high maintenance car - everyone was working on something! A huge thanks to David and company for host of BBQ! - Pictures is on the gallery

Friday June 14, 2002

The V6 challenge part I - event was canceled, but the track folks let our SHO people do quite a few run. It ended up as a fun day regardless.

Saturday May 4, 2002

Five of us had fun in the back roads of Oshawa/Bowmanville!

Saturday April 6, 2002

We went Adventure driving on back roads of Mississauga/Brampton. Among others, we also went to Port Credit Rd.? We met up at The Firkin Pub, between 401 and 407. We warmed up taking small roads to Glen Williams were lunch was served at the copper Kettle.

Saturday Mar 9, 2002

Inside Kart Driving, was held at Formula Kartways in Brampton at 1 PM. A few of us brought own approved full face helmet. Rentals are available for $0. I brought a change of clothes. Believe me, after 20 laps of this, we stank of 2 stroke fuel!!

Feb. 22, 2002

6 of us visited Oakville Ford plant - home of the F150. Thanks to SVTO - Toronto for putting this together.

Jan 26, 2002

2 months since last meet, most of us had a lot to talk about. We met at Kelsey's on 407&Young. No further comments on the service at Kelsey's, that's another story. Thanks to all 14 people that came! Mike T. (95 MTX, green) showed off his new intake and almost invisible UDP, and totally invisible Y-pipe. His upcoming engine upgrade plans stretches pretty far, so it will be interesting to follow him. Josh (came in a Ford van) have plans to install a Windsor bought 3.2 engine into his MTX. The SHO talk didn't die down before 5:30PM. Tom Houghton, and Herman (me) were helping Mikeal with his upcoming 60k service. Dirtiest car award goes to the only blue SHO. Cleanest SHO award goes to Mike T. and Tom Houghton. I couldn't decide. Pictures will come on the gallery soon.

November 24, 2001

Dyno Day held at DPS (Dyno Power Services) in Scarborourgh. 8 cars were on the Dyno, 6 additional cars came to a total of around 14 people. It was a great success starting off with the 428HP monster belonging to SHO nut himself. It all ended up with pizza, when lots of people had left already. The good part always comes at the end! It was great to see more new faces! I came home smelling well burnt SHO fuel. Pictures are on the gallery....

Saturday Nov. 3, 2001

Gone are the days we could have shorts and T-shirts. Nevertheless, meeting was held at Applebees Bar and grill @ 155 Kingston Rd E, Ajax, ON. All in all we were 7 guys showing up. Most of the crowd did not make it to the previous meeting, so we have a potential for more than 10 people next meeting? We had 1 gen I, several generation II and 2 gen III SHOs in the parking lot.

September 29, 2001

In fantastic fall weather, 7 people and 6 SHOs arrived. Amounts wise, 2 gen I and 4 gen II. Three of them were green. We had folks from Oshawa to Kitchener. Ages were 18 to late 30's. It was nice to put some faces to the email addresses. I took pictures of all 6 cars together, all drivers drinking and single pics of owner/car. They are posted on member page and in the gallery.
